Peter Mac Foundation Big Match Day

BIG MATCH DAY

Fund Raising at Big Match Day

As a club our aim each year is to raise approximately $10,000 in support of the Peter MacCallum Cancer Foundation. Cancer affects or has affected so many people in our club, in our community, and this is our of helping. To help raise this money we ask if people can give at the Big Match Days at Farm Rd. We have been raising money for the last 6 years, $54,000 in total and every bit goes straight to Peter Mac. This is a great achievement for a club, and money that has helped so many people.

Every Big match

Our 2 Big Match Day Gold coin collections so far this season have collected $850, a way to go towards our target, please consider putting it in the tins on the way in on our Big match day. All donations are appreciated.

How else can you help us reach our target?

To help reach our target we are also asking our members and hockey friends that if they like they can give a bit more via our online giving page. Our online total has just opened so we need to give it a boost – all donations over $2 are tax deductable so we all win – the website is:

Also, did you know that our Major Sponsor, McKenzie’s Foods donates match our donations to Peter Mac with a donation to the club up to $10K each year so that $54,000 has come back and has also helped our club.

As part of our Peter Mac fund raising we also run a Golf day at the end of the season which is great fun where all proceeds go to support Peter Mac – watch out for more on that later in the year.

Julian Pratt, our Peter Mac fund raising co-ordinator had the privilege of visiting Peter Mac’s new Cancer Centre and they are doing some amazing work trying to find ways to cure Ovarian cancer through gene research as well as setting up spaces for the patients and their families who have to use the centre. It is all about money as the technology and the machines they need are expensive.  If you want to find out more about the great things Peter MacCallum Cancer Foundation do: www.petermac.org

Thank you to all who have already given to this great initiative for our Club www.suhc.com.au hopefully we can continue to make a difference off as well as on the field through everyone’s help.

Go Strikers and see you all on Saturday
