It has been a long a hard preseason and everyone was really keen to kick the season off on a good note and that’s what the girls did.
It was going to be tough game against Baw Baw especially at their home ground but we went into the game with confidence that we’d had a solid preseason. During the week Jess Jacobs pulled out due to injury which was very disappointing as Jess was really training well and Shan had a sore foot that flared up Thursday night so we weren’t at full strength going into the game.
Baw Baw hit the scoreboard first after we had good control of the game which sparked the Tas & Tasma show and we went into ½ time 4-1 up. In the 2nd half we created a lot of opportunities but couldn’t put the ball in the back of the net and Baw Baw started to fight back and scored to make it 4-2. During this period we still had control of the game but it was becoming tighter and we really needed to score to finish Baw Baw off. Tas scored her 3rd goal for the game after some nice build up through the midfield to seal the victory with 10 minutes to go.
Congratulations to Tasma, Katelyn Waring, Paige and Taryn for their first game in the 1sts
Everyone played well and was good team effort.
Goal scorers 3 Tamsin Nelson 2 Tasma Ritchie
