WSL travelled to a not so sunny Ballarat to take on WestVic on a cold, wet and windy Saturday afternoon. However the road trip was well worth the effort with a sound 4-0 victory over the hosts on a new pitch which really suited our style of game. Good effort girls and well done! WSL is now fourth, one point below second and one point above fifth in very tight league.
MSL played Old Xav’s away on Sunday and despite a competitive start from the opposition, SUHC dominated possession without much reward early in the piece. SUHC finally broke the deadlock with a fine Scully tomahawk but Xav’s scored soon after to lock things up again. However that was the end any scoring action from the hosts for the rest of the game with SUHC re-asserting its early dominance to take out the match 7-1 and second place on the ladder.
MPA drew one all with Essendon away.
WPB was beaten 2-4 by Footscray.
MPD went down 0-2 to MCC away.
WPC were away to Footscray and lost 1-6.
Meanwhile back at the Farm some early results…
WM2SE drew 3 all with Footscray.
MM2SE lost 3-4 to Waverley.
MPE spent shots on goal like millionaires but still got up to beat Powehouse/St Kilda 2-1 and retain second spot on the ladder.
