The Olympics are about to hit our screens and computers. Are you ready?
The club rooms are all ready for people to enjoy the Olympic experience with the TV ready to be part of your Olympic fun. The TV will be on for the opening ceremony on Saturday morning while the big morning of hockey with U12 Shield, U12 Pennant, U12 South and U10s play.
The hockey game schedule is not always sleep friendly. But remember Channel 7 promises to have all sports, all games available to live stream and watch replays, just go to http://seven.com.au/olympics/
Two Victorians are part of the Australian Hockey teams. Chris Ciriello, winner of the Moorabbin Districts Hockey Club Under 17 Best and Fairest in 2001, member of the Moorabbin premiership teams for U15 A in 2000, and U13 A 1998, will be playing in Kookaburras, while Rachael Lynch is playing in her first Olympics in the Hockeyroos. Chris has come back to the club in the last few years to share his amazing skills especially around the drag flick. Rachael has not coached at Southern, but several of our goalies have received coaching from Rachael during specialist goal keeping clinics in Melbourne.
Long time Olympian and superstar Jamie Dwyer visited Southern for a clinic in 2013.
You can keep up to date on facebook with the Kookaburras and Hockeyroos.
