Wins and Vic honours for United

THE winter weather set in for junior hockey last Friday night.

But the cold weather did not deter the Southern United players, who had a clean sweep at the home matches at Farm Rd. The Under 14 and 16 mixed A teams proved too strong for the Footscray sides with the Under 14s winning 3-0 and the Under 16s 8-0. Max Hoult scored twice for the Under 14s. As the weather deteriorated again the third game for the night was an Under 18 clash between South and close-tohome rival St Bede’s.

Both teams have had a great start to the season, but United, under the coaching of club life member Cameron Hunter and men’s seconds player and club stalwart Steven Duffield, proved too strong in the 5-0 win. See more
