The stage was set for some great hockey. With the FIH Pro-League round in Sydney. Pro League is the FIH round robin tournament where nine men’s and women’s play from October to June, with the top team at the end of the season winning the league. Every second year the country hosts two other countries for two games against each of those visiting countries.
This year the Spain men and women’s teams, together with the Dutch men and Chinese women came to Australia.
With three Southern players in the Australian squads – Amy Lawton – two times Olympian, Nathan Ephraums – Paris Olympian and Craig Marais, the club was truly excited. Add to the excitement was the debut for five other Victorians. With this Victorians from many clubs made the trek to watch this exciting hockey.
