The Last Round

HV could not have planned it better. The ladders are so close in most competitions, only when the final game on the weekend is played, will many finals be determined.

The season for our premier league teams, and many of the pennant teams (especially the women) has been epic. For our metro teams it has been tough, the addition of so many juniors throughout the year has been the highlight for them.

Our masters teams have also performed well, with all teams except Masters 45C in the finals race.

The under 16 junior teams have been exceptional. The 14s and 12s have had a tough season. As quoted by a parent during the week ” it is a pity it is such a short season, with the Queen’s Birthday weekend and July school holidays, we are just getting composure, and the season is over”. YES, Let’s bring back the 18 round junior season.

Current Position: 1st –  3 points and 5 Goal difference ahead of 2nd
Possible final position: 1st or 2nd  Home final assured
Playing in final Round: Greensborough

What’s Needed:   A win or draw will give minor premiership. A loss will leave the result of Waverley (2nd) v Camberwell(3rd) controlling SUHC final position.

What’s Needed:   The stars need to align. Southern need to beat 2nd on the ladder Donnie, and MCC (4th) need to get beaten by Hawthorn (2nd).  MCC pushed Camberwell (1st and 5 points ahead) on the weekend.

What’s Needed:   Hawthorn play Waverley (bottom of the ladder). SUHC need to beat MUHC, and Hawthorn’s win need to be less than 9 goal difference more than Southerns

What’s Needed:   A SUHC win or draw will give 3rd and a home final. If Camberwell lose to PEGS (7th), the SUHC game has no affect.
