SOUTHERN United’s brilliant 16-year-old Amy Lawton bolted off with the Women’s Premier League best and fairest at last Wednesday’s Hockey Victoria awards night at the MCG.
Lawton polled 36 votes to win by eight.
With a 20-round season and Amy away on state and Australian duties for two rounds, she achieved an average of two votes per round.
She has played more than 180 games for Southern United, and was a member of the premiership-winning Under 16 Mixed A grade side as well as the Southern United Premier League team.
