Southern United Hockey Club

A big weekend on the cards

It is a big weekend of hockey this weekend, in the “off season”.

Our under 13 teams play in the Victorian Indoor Club Championships. Last year both our girls and boys teams won the championships. With many players having moved to under 15s, the teams have a different look. Good luck  to the two teams and coaches Chris Silvers and Michael Pearce.

Our come and try continues tonight after a bad weather start last weekend. A great way to bring a friend down to be introduced to the great sport of hockey, Details here.

A large contingent of our players have travelled to Mt Gambier with the Under 14 and Under 17 state development teams to play in development matches against South Australia. Good luck to all the players, I am not sure if I have a list of all of them, but includes: Emilia, Hayley, Molly, Anna, Nick, Dom E. Please let us know who else is going.

The Hockey Equipe competition continues at Skateworld with our three under 12 teams playing on Sunday.

The players preparing for the Pacific School games have their last training this weekend and then the exciting presentation of shirts for all Victorian Pacific Games participants. We not only have a contingent of Southern players in the Hockey Teams  travelling to Adelaide – Amy, Olivia, Emily B, Carlin, Trent, Craig,  Puck, Lulu, we also have some of our talented players playing in other sports – Hayley in touch and  Tamsyn in softball. Please let us know if there are more in other sports.

While hockey is what we are about, our amazing Southern Golf day is also on Sunday.

What a weekend. Enjoy.
