YOUNG hockey players were thrilled to get a chance to train with hockey star Jamie Dwyer.
The Kookaburras star visited Southern United Hockey club in Cheltenham to give a showcase and clinic with some lucky youngsters.
Dwyer had come in from Perth and club vice-president Helen Eddington said the club jumped at the chance to get the five-time world’s best men’s hockey player at the club.
She said the 80 available spaces were filled within 24 hours of announcing the sessions.
“He’s iconic and at the top of our sport,” Ms Eddington said.
“So for the kids to have access to him and learn from him is just amazing.
