Good morning everyone.
Having watched the womens group all this year at training and at most of their games I just wanted to say a couple of things before the two top teams head into the biggest game of the year this coming weekend.
This year has seen a big change for everyone with Hockey Vic introducing the Vic league & reserves set up which has really tested the depth of our womens section at times, especially when key players have been injured. That on its own would be a big challenge but added to that has been the introduction of two new coaches this year, which often takes a long time to get used to. The players have therefore not only had to get used to the new game format but also a new coaching & playing style. The coaches have stuck to their game plan all year & the players have put in an huge amount of work from pre-season all those months ago & have never wavered in their desire to reach the finals.
The effort the girls put in yesterday in a very tight match was sensational & their willingness to make 2nd & 3rd efforts, even when they were tiring, made us supporters extremely proud to have been there & witnessed it.
A big congratulations to the coaches Lou & James & to all the womens squad – your hard work & dedication have got you into two Grand Finals & regardless of the outcome we are all so proud of your achievements & the way you have represented your club. Can’t wait to see the two finals this weekend, I know you will all put in another huge effort, all the best of luck & GO SOUTHERN!!!!!!!
