A first for Southern

It was a weekend of highs and lows for the Southern United teams. The Premier League teams played Greensborough in the final round of the season. The men’s firsts went into the game on top of the ladder, three points ahead of Waverley. In a tough and physical game against Burra, Southern came from behind but couldn’t quite get there, going down 4-3. But Southern United did win the minor premiership for the first time.

HV could not have planned it better. The ladders are so close in most competitions, only when the final game on the weekend is played, will many finals be determined.

Southern has big day at home

It promised to be a huge day of hockey at the home of Southern United, Kingston Heath Reserve, on Saturday. And it didn’t disappoint. Four key games between Southern and Waverley made for a great day.
